A telephone company worker faces court charged with stealing $3 million worth of phones and accessories from his employer. Police allege the man used his "position of responsibility" at the telecommunications company to steal more than 1,500 "high-end mobile phones and accessories". He allegedly sold the phones and accessories for cash on "various marketplace websites". Police arrested the 34-year-old man and searched his home in the suburb of Guildford in Sydney's west on the morning of November 9. Cryptocurrency, electronics and a car were seized during the search, police said. Footage of the arrest shows undercover police blocking the 34-year-old's car as he turned onto a busy suburban street and was cornered by another investigator. He pulled to the side of the road where officers make the arrest. The telco worker was charged with fraud, dealing with the proceeds of crime and unauthorised modification of data and faces Parramatta Local Court on December 5.
