Pregnancy tested-in calf heifers have sold to more than $3700 at the monthly Kyneton store sale.
The draft of 20 Barwidgee-blood Angus heifers, scanned in calf to an Adameluca low-birth-weight bull, were offered by Mingela Pastoral Company, Drummond.
They were purchased by SEJ, Leongatha, Gippsland for $3780 a head.
Mingela owner Ben Kay said hard work had paid off, in choosing the right bulls, management hanging onto the heifers and joining them to the Adameluca bulls.
"All in all we were very happy," Mr Kay said.
"We'll sell the weaner steers around February, but the females will stay and be in calf to Adameluca Quintette and Quartz."
