Light-weight weaner steers sold to 780 cents a kilogram at Myrtleford on Friday during the Elders blue ribbon weaner sale.
About 1100 cattle were yarded in the feature market where agents complimented the vendors for the quality of cattle presented.
A mix of new and return buyers added to the buoyancy of the market which was also integrated with online platform StockLive.
Elders Albury, NSW, auctioneer Kirsty Taylor said a large number of calves sold remained in north-east Victoria.
"Heavier weaners headed to feedlots in Hay, NSW, Quirindi, NSW, and a large run of light-weight weaners headed to Tamworth, NSW," Ms Taylor said.
G & J Chalwell & Family of Bowmans Forest and Catherine Station sold 294 mixed-sex Angus and Black Baldy weaners.
Their steers topped at $1600 head with a pen of 26 calves weighing 170 kilograms making 780c/kg.
The same vendor claimed the top gong for the best presented pen of heifers with a pen of 14, 170kg, making $1455 or 670c/kg.
WJ & MD Goldsworthy, Eurobin, won the best pen of steers and sold 52 Hereford steers to a top of $2000.
The best presented pen of 25 calves, 352kg, made 548c/kg.
CJ & CA Hall, Buckland Valley, sold 34 mixed-sex Black Baldy weaners.
Their steers sold to a top of $1895 and heifers to $1780.
Selzer Farming, Ovens, sold 41 mixed-sex Black Baldy weaners with the steers selling to $1880 and heifers to $1720.
Moore Pastoral, Buffalo River, sold 112 mixed-sex weaners
The vendor's steers sold to $2040 and heifers to $1760.
Data from StockLive shows the sale attracted 85 viewers who placed bids on 10 per cent of the sale.
Seven buyers from NSW and Victoria bought cattle through the online platform.
Leonard Ryan, Cheshunt, sold 55 Hereford calves to average $1385.
His steers topped at $1660.
DKF Heywood and Sons, Glenlock, Everton, sold 98 Angus weaners.
Their 67 steers topped at $1615 and 31 Angus heifers made up to $1430.
J Silins, Mudgegonga, sold 36 Angus to average $1596.
