Euroa's monthly store cattle sale kicked up another $50-100 a head on August, as cattle supplies continued to dry up.
Agents yarded 615 head of cattle.
Nutrien agents said the solid sale and yarding reflected the cold winter and the availability of stock.
"There are no cattle about and they are talking an inch of rain, which is absolutely super positive," Nutrien branch manager Russell Mawson said.
"'Everyone is feeling very confident.
"It's a pure reflection that the whole job is on fire."
Nutrien livestock agent Brad Gleeson said most of the buyers were local agents.
"The yarding reflected the cold winter and availability of cattle, but did not deter from the current upward trend," Mr Gleeson said.
"There were gains of $50-$100 a head on last month's sale."
