Pakenham again recorded solid prices at its fortnightly store sale last week, with agents reporting prices as strong as ever even with some cattle showing the effects of winter.
About 2300 head were yarded at the Victorian Livestock Exchange.
Alex Scott & Staff Pakenham auctioneer David Setches said grown cattle sold exceptionally well, with prices ranging from 5-8 cents a kilogram better than the previous store sale.

"[There was] exceptionally fierce bidding and competition on those better lines of grown steers.
