Introducing, "Dogattle"; Bizzare digital mash-up blending cattle and dog breeds

IT makes absolutely no sense whatsoever.

And yet there is something strangely, captivatingly intriguing about seeing a dog's head blended onto the body of a cow or bull.

For no apparent reason, we thought it would be comical to see the results of matching up various dog breeds to appropriate cattle breeds.

We've named them "Dogattle", or the more scientific, "Bovcanine".

The output, as can be seen in the gallery above, makes for some disturbing (but hopefully humorous) viewing.

Some breeds seem to blend seamlessly (ie. the Belgian Blue Heeler) while others cannot, unfortunately, be unseen (ie. the Jersador) and will probably revisit as nightmares to bovine and canine purists.

Of course, no offense is intended to any of the cattle or dog breeds used here.

1. Brahmund

With both breeds bearing particularly elongated ears, hearing the call for dinner will be no problem. Goes without saying examples have an extremely good length. Picture supplied

2. Aberdweiler

This early maturing beast has a hefty structure to it and yet often gets a bad wrap for its temper. Picture supplied

3. Dalmeckle Park

It's a case of spots upon spots upon spots for this breed, with plenty of visual appeal despite sacrificing some height. They are most comfortable in herds numbering 101. Picture supplied

4. Herefulldog

Such longing in the eyes, perhaps crying out for a cup of tea and a royal wave, such is the Britishness of this breed. Picture supplied

5. Brangaffordshire

The Brangaffordshire is muscular, alert and full of energy. The natural tick resistance is a nice bonus also. Picture supplied

6. Boxergus

What a wonder of imaginary breeding is the Boxergus. The distinct mastiff head tops off desirable beef features which tend to attract a premium at the saleyards.

7. British Bolognese White

The British Bolognese White has cuteness to spard with his fluffy coat and deep black eyes. It's best to avoid one playfully leaping onto one's lap however. Picture supplied

8. West Highland Terrolais

This adorable critter can be quite the scamp with natural inquisitiveness combined with fast growth characteristics. Doggy doors will generally need to be custom made. Picture supplied

9. Jersador

Despite being something of an odd-looking creation, the Jersador is a good milker and is additionally valued as an assistance animal. Be prepared for some odd looks when crossing streets or visiting assistance animal-friendly cafes. Picture supplied

10. Belgian Blue Heeler

Rippling with muscles and a desire to round up cattle, Belgian Blue Heelers bear the special trait of being able to muster themselves. Picture supplied

11. St Simmenardtal

Hybrid vigour is the name of the game with this breed, as well as size in spades. If intending to parade a St Simmenardtal in a local show, it will require the mandatory small wooden barrel to be displayed hanging from their necks. Picture supplied

12. GreyHownd Swiss

For fast milk deliveries, don't go past the GreyHownd Swiss. That bell around their neck does make a racket when racing other animals. Picture supplied

13. Irish Santa Gersetter

The Irish Santa Gersetter is an adaptable breed to many conditions within Australia. What's more, they are very handy when heading out for a spot of hunting, although their high speed lumbering approach tends to scare away any potential trophies. Picture supplied

14. Pugousin

The above average feed conversion rate of the Pugousin is wasted somewhat due to it being a fussy eater. There is also a hardiness to them, plus ease of calving. Beware of the ever-panting tongue which, at that size, delivers quite the sizable lashing of drool. Picture supplied

15. Pomerish Highranian

Gorgeousness meets very long horns in the Pomerish Highranian. Taking care of the coat requires considerable effort. Their lively personality makes for great entertainment despite the obvious mess, damage and injuries sustained from those significant handlebars. Picture supplied

16. Dextorgi

It's well known that the queen was very fond of her Dextorgies even though there was difficulty in making public appearances with them. Be sure to never refer to them as calves when they are in fact fully grown. Picture supplied

17. Belted Scottish Gallowerrier

The Belted Scottish Gallowerrier is easily recognisable by the white strap around the midriff, and the beard below the chin. The breed was slated to appear in a dog food commercial back in the day, but that got canned due to the somewhat cannibalistic overtones that emerged. Picture supplied

18. Border Collstein

Not only can this breed push a herd of sheep through a course like nobody's business, it can also provide the key ingredient for the lattes of the spectators watching on. Picture supplied

19. Great Duernsey

For sheer size impact, few can go past the Great Duernsey. Milk volume output is obviously increased due to the size genetics which is a handy bit of profit considering they consume about four times as much as other breeds. Picture supplied

20. Chihuanina

Known for its lean meat production, the Chihuanina is highly sought after by earmuff-wearing beef buyers brave enough to enter a yarding featuring hundreds of them joining in on the high-pitched yapping. Picture supplied
