SHINE on, will be the theme of this year's Australian Persimmon Industry Conference and Field Days happening on from June 20 to 22 at Mildura, Victoria.
Hosted by Persimmons Australia, the conference will be held at the Quality Hotel Mildura Grand in the heart of Mildura's shopping and dining precinct.
The conference will cover an array of topics including:
- Marketing crops, highlighting the trends and opportunities for growth;
- New varieties from across the globe and in Australia;
- Crop management strategies to maximise quality and productivity;
- Review the 2023 promotional campaign;
- Investigate how Hort Innovation is investing the levy;
- Showcase a selection of new and innovative technologies for the persimmon industry.
The event will also provide the opportunity to discuss ideas with leading researchers, growers, marketers and other relevant industry stakeholders, catch up with friends and bounce ideas off Hort Innovation staff to foster the growth of the Australian persimmon industry.

Social activities include the optional sunset river cruise and industry networking event incorporating a barbecue dinner and conference dinner.
The Sunraysia district produce about 80 per cent of Victoria's grapes and is renowned for its horticulture, especially almonds and citrus.
There will also be a full day field tour (Tuesday, June 20) to the South Australian Riverland visiting persimmon orchards, including morning tea and lunch at Wilkadene Woolshed Brewery overlooking the River Murray.
Another field tour will take place on June 22, taking in the Sunraysia district with visits to the NSW DPI's Persimmon Research Block, another persimmon orchard, and other horticultural establishments.
