VICTORIAN shedding sheep proven to perform in high rainfall areas and with good worm resistance are destined for three states after selling at auction on Monday.
Low Footprint Lamb sold 60 of its 90 Nudie rams on offer during its first online sire sale, with the top-priced ram snapped up by two north-west Victorian breeders.
The Croxton East stud's 66 per cent clearance rate is a "fantastic result", according to stud principals Matt and Brigid Kelly who previously sold rams via private treaty.
"New interstate buyers were seeking more worm-resistant genetics for their shedding flocks," he said.
"Locals were chasing rams with dominant shedding genetics to breed wool off maternal composites.
"There's great interest from lamb producers across the country, wanting to reduce wool-related costs and risks."

Low Footprint prides itself on clean shedding, high footrot and worm resistance sheep, bred to perform in high rainfall areas, Mr Kelly said.
The top-priced ram, Lot 90 - the last ram of the sale, sold for $7300 and was jointly-purchased by Ashley O'Halloran, Port Fairy/Jeparit, and his nephew, Paddy O'Halloran, Rainbow.
Four other rams sold to other buyers for $7100, $6500, $5500 and $5000.
Mr Kelly described the top-priced ram as a physically correct future sire with positive fat and muscle figures.
"He is an early shedder and will have a significant impact on the shedding capacity of his progeny," he said.
"We've used this ram in our stud and commercial flocks."
The Kelly family have also sold his semen to a local stud and several studs in New Zealand.
Ashley O'Halloran said the ram would be joined to composite ewes in Port Fairy at the end of December, and then used over some Low Footprint Lamb ewes at Rainbow down the track.
"It cost us more to shear last year than we got for the wool so we're looking for low maintenance sheep and don't need the work that goes with wool," he said.
"This ram has the data and there's not many shedding breeders with these performance figures so we're excited to see what he does."
Among the volume buyers were two first-time interstate clients chasing shedding sheep with worm resistance, including Damien Scanlan, Goondiwindi, QLD, who bought 11 rams to $3600.
"We're in a flood at the moment and we've got one farm that takes a reasonable amount of water and barber's pole worm is an ongoing issue," Mr Scanlan said.
"We run a Dorper operation and we're looking to inject some genetics that have serious worm resistance."
David and Mary Booth, Cootamundra NSW, bought 10 rams to $3100.
