October was wetter than average across most of southern Victoria.
Pockets of the state's southern central region and the coastal south west had rainfall totals in the wettest 10 per cent of records for the month.
Averaged across the state, the October 2021 rainfall total was about 10pc higher than usual.
It was a wet start to the month, with widespread rainfall across Victoria on October 1.

Mid-month, a complex low pressure system and a low pressure trough brought severe thunderstorms, strong winds and widespread - locally heavy - rainfall.
Big accumulations of small hail were observed on October 14 across north west Victoria.
Traralgon received 40.6mm of rain on October 14, with 20mm falling in a 30-minute period. A minor flood warning was issued for Traralgon Creek.
A cold front crossing Victoria on October 22 resulted in light to moderate falls over central and southern parts of the state.
Damaging winds extended from the west last Thursday into central and eastern Victoria on Friday as a cold front and associated low pressure system crossed the state.
Numerous locations recorded gusts of more than 100 kilometres per hour.
Wind gusts in excess of 140km/h were recorded at Mount William, in the Grampians, and 146km/h at Wilsons Promontory Lighthouse.
The system also brought severe thunderstorms, hail and showers that caused flash flooding in parts of the state.
Victoria's State Emergency Services received more than 2000 calls for help, mostly for fallen trees and building damage. Parts of Victoria were left without power.
The rainfall total for Victoria's cool season - from April to October - was close to average.
Daytime temperatures were also close to average across most of the state, and night-time temperatures were warmer than average in the state's south east and below average in much of the west.
There were some notable warm days.
Ouyen Post Office and Walpeup Research reached 33.9°C on October 28.
But, overall, Victoria's mean maximum temperature was -0.43°C below the October average, making it the coolest since 2016.
