Although last year's Omeo Show was cancelled due to COVID-19, the annual Helimed Charity Auction still went ahead, raising more than $10,000 for Victoria's air ambulance services.
Producers donated two bales, or 364 kilograms, of their wool for the auction.
Elders Gippsland district wool manager Mal Nicholls said it was a great effort by Belinda and Noeleen Smith to pull together the annual auction, despite the show being cancelled.
"We saw the potential value of $4500 in donated wool actually achieve $10,015 once it went to auction, due to the generosity of the buyers," Mr Nicholls said.

"The auction again proved an outstanding success with Modiano Australia purchasing the top bale for 3000 cents a kilogram," Mr Nicholls said.
"Lou Morsch, their buyer, has supported this cause since its inception, which is very much appreciated by all concerned."
Buying for Techwool Trading, Brendan Millar purchased the second bale for 2500c/kg, which pushed the overall return to $10,015.
"This takes the total for the six years to above $70,000 which is a massive joint effort from the Gippsland woolgrowers and the wool buying trade in Melbourne," Mr Nicholls said.
The amount of donated wool and the enthusiasm show in the auction room "shows the best of Aussie generosity," he said.
"In a year that has been beyond tough for all concerned the outcome was outstanding," he said.
Mr Nicholls said while the charity specifically supported the East Gippsland air ambulance, the benefits flowed across all of Victoria.
"Ambulance Victoria doesn't put anything in that helicopter that doesn't go in helicopters across the state," he said.
The first lot of the bales weighed 183kg, was 18 micron, had 0.3 vegetable matter, and a 112-millimetre staple length.
Lot two was 18.8 micron, had a 0.4 vegetable matter, a 113mm staple length and weighed 181kg.
