An agreement this week between the Australian Wagyu Association (AWA) and AXIchain will see the two organisations work together to provide the next generation digital edge to the Wagyu supply chain.
Initiatives include supporting Wagyu producers with systematic digital processes to access export and domestic beef markets, with functionality for both large producers and Small to Medium Enterprise (SMEs) via AXIchain's digital syndication and mapping tool.
Further initiatives include implementing digital systems specific for a cut boning matrix connected to objective carcase measurement data sharing systems through the supply chain and end-to-end digital traceability with the mNVD linking to the AXIchain dynamic QR Code technology.
"The AWA is excited to enter into a corporate partnership with AXIchain to assist with the development of digital systems for Wagyu," AWA chief executive Matt McDonagh said.
"The Wagyu sector is at the leading edge of the Australian Beef Industry with uniquely integrated supply chain connectivity.
"Working with AXIchain, will provide AWA members with solutions to integrate registration, DNA and digital carcase data and leverage this for export market opportunities."
The partnership will see a combined effort to create awareness and increase uptake of AXIchain digital solutions within the Wagyu industry to help advance the breed's reputation as the World's Luxury Beef.
AXIchain's sophisticated end-to-end digital export trading platform is underpinned by cutting edge digital traceability technology that provides immutable provenance data through the supply chain and to the consumer.

Under the agreement, the two organisations will also combine efforts in identifying industry or government grants and other funding and income avenues to achieve beneficial outcomes for the Australian Wagyu industry.
