Koonik, Hamilton Run and Mitre Rock stud, Nurcoung, shrugged off its inability to run field days to showcase its rams, with a successful on-farm and AuctionsPlus sale.
Koonik's Fiona Cameron said she was very surprised at the success of the sale, given the border closures meant some clients were not able to visit the three studs to view the rams in person.
Due to coronavirus restrictions, it was decided to run the sale through AuctionsPlus, but the online platform did not see any winning bids.
"We got some new clients, which was a bit surprising, as we didn't hold any field days," Ms Cameron said.
She said clients were looking for dual purpose sheep.
"We are known for our good wool on meat sheep," she said.
"We did have a couple of people who had first cross operations, or Composites, who were looking to bring their wool micron down.
"They were looking to improve their flock, and increase their wool cheque."
The top priced ram, a Koonik Dohne, had a birth-weight of two kilograms, a weaning-weight of four kilograms, a post-weaning weight of five kilograms and yearling weight of 5.3kg.
His post-weaning eye muscle depth measurement was 0.5 and he had a post-weaning fat of 0.1.
The ram's yearling clean fleece weight was 11.1 per cent.
The July, 2019-drop ram was purchased by Stan and Judy Ellis, West Wail Dohne Stud, Horsham.
West Wail also secured lot three, KDS193038, sired by Australian Sheep & Wool Show 2016 junior champion Dohne and 2017 grand champion Dohne KDS151498.
Long time supporter of Koonik Dohnes, Sunnyside Partnership, Clear Lake, purchased five ty rams, to a top of $5000, averaging $3800.
Return client Peter Gooch, Kyneton, took home five Koonik rams with the purchase of lot two, KDS193539, for $4000, averaging $2650 for his future sires.
Chris Trotter, Horsham took four Koonik rams and one Hamilton Run Dohne ram home to an average of $1850, top price of $2750.
New clients included the Fraser family, North Byaduk.
They acquired six Koonik rams to a top of $4250, averaging $3167 for their group.
The top-priced Hamilton Run Dohne was bought by Langlea Pastoral Co, Edenhope.
He was sired by the 2018 ASWS grand champion Dohne.
Mitre Rock's top priced ram was bought by long-time client Brad Blackwood, Nhill.
Mr Blackwood also secured a second Poll Merino for $2250 and purchased two Koonik Dohne rams for $4000 and $3500.
