Limited offerings at NVLX Wodonga today resulted in keen demand for the better quality stock from both restockers and producers wanting to finish stock on grain.
Few breeding females were penned and weaner steers made up the majority of the sale during which 648 were yarded.
Indicative results included steers weighing 300-400kg sold from $1645 to $1410, while those under 300kg sold from $1420 to $1210.
The few steers weighing over 400kg sold from $1910 to $1700.
In the heifer pens, those weighing between 300kg to 400kg sold from $1640 to $1225 while those under 300kg sold from $1315 to $900.
The one pen of heifers weighing over 400kg sold for $1700.
Values for PTIC topped at $2050 while cows with calves sold from $2530 to $1900.
Representative sales of steers included 15 Angus, weighing 353kg offered by Racha Holdings, Corryong, Victoria making $1590: Tyson Blacker, Bungowannah sold 18 Table Top Angus-blood steers, 11-12 months weighing 379kg for $1585 and W.J and J Sutherland, Wymah received $1510 for their pen of 27 Limousin cross steers, nine - 11 months and weighing 349kg.
Other good steer sales included 14 Angus, ten to 12 months and weighing 361kg sold for $1520 on account Eastgate Pastoral Co, Conargo: Bellview, Table Top sold eight Limousin cross weighing 313kg for $1315 and F.E and J.F McCormack, Muskerry, Vic sold 22 Marwarra-blood Herefords, 10 - 12 months and weighing 380kg for $1680, while Claredale, Berrigan sold 11 Herefords weighing 397kg for $1650.
In the steer pens weighing under 300kg, Sergio Parissotto, Buffalo Creek, Vic received $1210 for his five Jarobee-blood Angus weighing 216kg: Troy and Juliet Waller, Wooragee, Vic sold eight Alpine Angus-blood weaners nine to ten months and weighing 271kg for $1400 and Ben Valley Angus, Ben Valley, Vic received $1420 for their pen of 10 Angus weighing 294kg, while Fairfield, Walla Walla sold 19 Rotherfield-blood Herefords weighing 252kg for $1375.
Representative sales of heifers included 37 Limousin cross, nine- 11 months weighing 323kg sold by W.J and J Sutherland, Wymah for $1360: Bellview, Table Top sold 11 Angus weighing 293kg for $1220 and Sergio Parissotto, Buffalo Creek received $1170 for his pen of 11 Jarobee-blood Angus weighing 260kg.
Andlie Farms Pty Ltd, Mansfield, Vic sold eight Dysart-blood Angus heifers weighing 251kg for $1190 and Eastgate Pastoral Co, Conargo sold 11 Angus weighing 276kg for $1180.
Sales of cows with calves included 14 Angus cows with 15 Alpine Angus-blood calves three months old sold by Yerrin Pastoral Co, Mansfield, Vic for $2620 while their pen of PTIC cows to Alpine Angus-blood bull and weighing 630kg sold for $2050.
Wodonga based agencies Brian Unthank Rural, Corcoran Parker, Peter Ruaro Livestock and Schubert Boers conducted the sale.
