Simon and Kristina King, Avonside Merinos, Cooma penned 40 Merino rams for their 10th annual on-property sale.
They were very excited to have a top price of $7000, with 35 of the 40 rams penned sold for the creditable average of $2137.14.
The top priced ram, a son of Langdene 499 was bought by Martin, Liz and Adam Walters, BC Partnership, Dalgety.
Martin Walters said his family liked the type of ram with long staple length and deep crimped wool.
"He is my style of sheep, got a good skin, stands well with a deep barrel and bone," he said.
"He has a great body with a fantastic fleece."
Mr King acknowledged the support of many repeat buyers along with four new clients.
"I'm really pleased they were able to get what they wanted," he said.
"I know it has been tough but it is enjoyable to see wool growers are still looking for top genetics and pay for them."
The sale was settled by Elders, Cooma with Monaro Livestock and Property, Cooma and Elders studstock auctioneer Andy McGeoch took the bids.
