*74 of 80 rams sold to $6000, av $2368
A GOOD crowd of regular buyers kicked prices higher at Terrick West Poll Merino stud's 30th annual on-property sale last Friday.
A total of 74 rams of 80 offered sold to a top of $6000, to average $2368.
This year's sale saw a significant rise in top price and average from the 2018 sale when rams sold to $4750 and averaged $2086.
The clearance rate was almost identical with 92.5 per cent sold this year.
The top-priced ram was Lot 14, a 20.5 micron ram with a standard deviation (SD) of 2.9, coefficient of variation (CV) of 14.2, and comfort factor (CF) of 99.2pc.
The ram was sired by 5.208, a TW 3.381 son, and bought by Colin Stimson, Glenaroua, through Rodwells Kilmore.
Second top-priced ram was Lot 17 at $5750 that sold to regular buyers, Vearing Nominees, through Landmark wool account manager John McGrath.
The ram had measurements of 19.2 micron, 2.6 SD, 13.5 CV and 99.8pc CF.
The same buyer also paid $4000 for a 19.3-micron ram that had figures of 3.2 SD, 16.7 CV and 99.6 CF.
The Wall family, Gowangardie, regular buyers at this sale, took home six rams paying to $3750 on two occasions and averaging $3333.
The Walls' top-priced lots included an 18.6-micron ram with figures of 2.9 SD, 15.6 CV and 99.6 CF.
The other ram to make $3750 was Lot 32, a 19.1 micron ram with 2.2 SD, 11.5 CV and 100pc CF.
Getting in early was Ravenshoe Pastoral, Ravenswood, that bought lots 1 and 10 for $4000 each.
Lot 1 was a 19.4 micron ram while Lot 10 measured 19.2 micron.
K, S, P & N Durrant, Moama, NSW, bought 10 rams to top of $4000, av $2525.
The Durrants' top ram was Lot 3, a 19.9 micron ram, with 3.7 SD, 18.2 CV and 99.3 CF.
Horsham-based Trig Point Trust paid $4000 for its top price of four rams purchased that averaged $2937.
Their top-priced ram was Lot 2, a 20.2-micron ram, with 3.2 SD, 16.5 CV and 99.3 CF.
Hamilton-based Jullunder Farms paid to $3000 twice when putting together four rams, averaging $2562.
Burnside Ag, Lismore, who paid top price at the 2018 sale, was again a prominent buyer taking home two rams at $3500 each.
Ukurrie, Majorca, who paid to $2250 for six rams to average $1958.
