The Meldon Park stud took home the grand champion Simmental at the Gympie Show with an 18-month-old bull noted for his length, structure and softness.
Meldon Park Navigator won the junior and grand champion awards in the Simmental feature, and will now head to the Ekka before featuring in the Meldon Park sale at Moura in September.
Elisabeth and Rodney Skene from Meldon Park Simmentals said they were "chuffed" with the win.
"The judges liked his overall length, his structure and his softness," Mr Skene said.
"He's just a really nice, balanced bull. He's only 18 months old."
Navigator is the son of Lucrana General, a bull that has become one of Meldon Park's most prolific sires since he was snapped-up in 2016.
"The sire - Lucrana General - has been really successful for us," Mr Skene said.
"We've bred a lot of good bulls out of that fella."
One of those bulls was Meldon Park Matador, who won the broad ribbon for the grand champion Simmental bull at the Ekka in 2018.
Matador also won the Ekka Champion of Champions interbreed pair in 2018, alongside Ellendale Red Supermodel from Ellendale Red Simmentals.
That win was the first time the Simmental breed had triumphed in the Champion of Champions interbreed contests that are the culmination of the Ekka cattle competition.
