As we bare witness to another fortnight without substantial rain, the yarding at the Swan Hill Regional Livestock Exchange rose by 9000, for a total number of just over 13,000 head.
The 9600 lambs sold well to the regular buying group plus another processor that has been quite active this year, making for a more competitive market.
Agents presented a good quality yarding with an excellent run of supplementary-fed, heavy, and extra heavy lambs, selling $10-$20 dearer a head.
HW Silvister, Lake Charm, sold the top pen of lambs for $220.
Producers were active paying from $80-$139 for their lambs.
Sheep also followed the dearer trend with a number of pens of heavy Merino and crossbred sheep selling to strong competition.
The Merino sheep sold to $157, and the crossbreds made up to $170.
