*72 rams sold to $3600, av $1707
Boorana Merino stud, Woorndoo, held a successful on-property sale last week where prices topped at $3600 for a Poll Merino.
The sale was conducted as a Helmsman sale that saw all 72 lots sold to a total clearance and average of $1707.
Top priced lot was Boorana 211 purchased by Khandalla Pty Ltd, MacArthur.
Boorana stud principal, Will Lynch, said the buyer had been a client for many years.
Khandalla purchased three rams to average $2600, including one at $2300.
Mr Lynch said the sale was “very solid, we’re very happy”.
“It was great to have four new clients buying. It shows you have to persist in putting yourself out there,” he said.
Second top price of $3500 was achieved on two lots.
Lot 1 made $3500 going to volume buyers KD & G Fagg, Mount Mercer.
The same buyer put together four rams averaging $2362.
The second ram to make $3500 was lot 32 purchased by another volume buyer,Elsdon Pastoral, Perth, Tasmania.
Elsdon took home five rams at an average of $2400.
Eulo Pastoral, Carramut, paid up to a top of $2700 when buying four rams at an average of $2275.
