An all day helmsman auction of 30 Merino rams complemented the recent Old Dundee’s Marnoo Merino Field Day on-property open day.
Clients and potential clients could purchase the rams on view and for sale, and discuss the easy care, early maturing sheep with the Old Dundee stud principals, David, Russell and Jason Hodder in a relaxed, non-pressured environment.
The top priced paddock run ram sold for $1400 to buyers JW & JA Hinton, Carranballac, with the second highest priced ram achieving $1250, to successful bidders, DP & N Rowe, Pura Pura.
Old Dundee is a Horn stud transitioning to Poll, and all stock are unhoused, which ‘gives a true style to the sheep’ said Russell Hodder, co-principal on the day.
The sale was conducted by Elders St Arnaud.
