THERE has been a change in the strategic partnership between grain advisory business Market Check and South Australian grower investment organisation Free Eyre that will see Market Check boost its presence in SA.
Free Eyre has made the decision to wind down its FE Grain marketing arm, which it worked on via the partnership with Market Check, established in 2016.
Market Check will now go it alone in servicing the former FE Grain network while Free Eyre will concentrate on its plans to increase grain transport supply chain competition through its Port Spencer grain port development.
Richard Perkins, Market Check general manager, said the business had been operating in South Australia since 2007 and was keen to increase its footprint further.
With this in mind he said the business had appointed two new commodity advisors to service regional SA.
Tess Walch and Bec Roberts will take up the positions.
Ms Walch will be based in Streaky Bay on the Eyre Peninsula having previously worked for FE Grain.
Ms Roberts has been involved in the South Australian agricultural industry since 2011 having previously worked for CRT as the logistics manager and for Agfarm as the Eastern SA regional manager and will be based in the east of the state at Bordertown.
Mr Perkins said the appointments were part of a strategy of connecting farmers with professionals based in their own area.
“Through the appointment of Tess and Bec, we can now better service growers across South Australia with regionally based, highly skilled and dedicated commodity advisers,” he said.
