Yarding 1605
Steers to $1620
Heifers to $1300
Cows & calves to $2600
Bulls to $3600
IN A sizeable yarding of 1605 cattle, it was difficult to predict values at Pakenham’s store cattle sale this week.
There were a few feature lines, including a run of bulls from Cheltenham Park Angus and Glenburn Station; and Angus steers and heifers from Barragunda Estate and Blackwater Park.
But the yarding was mixed, with plain cattle drafted alongside well-prepared animals.
Buyers seeking cattle for Bendigo and Ballarat districts vied alongside butchers, South and Central Gippsland re-stockers and a number of feedlot operators or their representatives.
There was considerable interest in the complete drop of Spring-2016, 13-14mo, Angus steers and heifers, sired by Innesdale bulls and sent in by Barragunda Estate Pty Ltd, Cape Schanck.
