Peter and Robyn Sandy, Tongio, will be offering 110 steers and 50 heifers in Omeo, Wednesday, March 15, in the Elders annual Mountain Cattle sales.
Now trading as PJ&RJ Sandy, after the passing of Jim Sandy, their Hereford & Hereford-Shorthorn calves will again sell to heavy competition.
This is 1st time Peter has yard weaned their calves, and he said it had made a difference to their temperament.
Peter Sandy is quiet by nature, and this quality has flowed through to their cattle.
Now quieter, and in good condition, these Mawarra, Nunniong & Dunoon blood Hereford calves will present very well.
April-May drop, or 9-11 months on sale day will be an advantage for bullock fatteners looking to sell them before the end of next summer.
Veterinary treatments include, 2x5-in-1, and drenched with Vetmec F at marking, will give potential buyers some surety.
Adding to buy competition for the Sandy steers and heifers, is the inclusion of Malton Shorthorn bulls over some of the herd.
Past buyers have shown a lot of faith in this cross breeding, not only for their pretty coat, but for their fattening ability.
Nothing looks better in the front paddock than a run of these “strawberry roan” heifers with quality calves at foot.
There will be steers in the Sandy calves that will weigh over 400 kilograms liveweight. Make sure you are at the Wednesday afternoon sale at Omeo, to have a chance of buying these cattle.
