Leongatha
Yarded 2301
Steers to $1880
Heifers to $1560
Cows & calves to $2400
RESTOCKERS were eager to replace traded cattle at last week’s Leongatha store cattle sale, where 2301 were yarded.
There were some impressive drafts of quality cattle in the sale, already showing the effects of a good season.
With local restockers buying steers, that pushed the price of heifers and cows with calves up, in competition with feedlot buyers who walked away with a lot fewer steers than they bargained on at the start of the day.
The price of steers was eased on a month ago but better than the last sale.
