There were only small differences in the entries in the Dorset Downs section of the Sheep and Wool Show, according to judge Malcolm McKelvie.
All rams and ewes entered were from Woodhall stud, Wedderburn. Principals Colin and Margaret Chapman brought four rams and four ewes to the show.
“We’re a single exhibitor but we come along to exhibit the sheep for people’s interest,” Mr Chapman said.
“They’re excellent temperament complements their mothering and birthing skills. They’re minimum care because they’re low maintenance.”
The judge found little difference between the entries, commending the stud on its consistency of breeding.
Best of breed champion ram went to a over-2.5-year-old, clipping his younger pen-mates.
It was also the over-2.5-year-old ewe who took out Best of breed champion in its class.
The one ram and two ewes was awarded most successful exhibitor.
