A NEW marketing service for Victorian grain growers was launched Tuesday by the Victorian Farmers Federation's (VFf) Grains Group.
The service will benefit growers wanting to accumulate their combined grain into one sale, rather than marketing smaller individual portions throughout the harvest.
VFF Grains Group President Russell Amery said Agfarm Advantage is a no frills option for growers who wish to market their grain across a period of time without having to repeatedly contact marketers.
“Agfarm Advantage allows growers to consolidate the marketing of multiple parcels of grain into a single product and benefit from the prices Agfarm can achieve during a set marketing period,” Mr Amery said.
“Over either a five or ten month period growers can have their grain sold as part of a marketing schedule with no fuss payment periods.
The new service combines grain from multiple growers and then manages the entire grain marketing process. This provides flexibility and an opportunity for growers to achieve premiums as part of a larger parcel, along with regular cash flow and a reduction in individual liabilities.
