The Federal Opposition Leader signed and donated the swimmers after joining 170 competitors in last Sunday’s annual 20/twenty Challenge, an endurance event for The Spastic Centre.
The now legendary swimmers are up for auction on ebay until Wednesday 31 March.
CEO of The Spastic Centre, Mr Rob White said all money raised through the endurance event and the auction of Mr Abbott’s swimmers would go towards providing vital equipment for children with cerebral palsy (CP).
"We really appreciate Mr Abbott once again taking time out of his busy political schedule to line up beside former Olympians and participate in the 2km swim leg of the 20/twenty Challenge", Mr White said.
"We are also grateful for his good-humored donation of a pair of signed swimmers, which are up for auction on ebay for ten days before being sold off to the highest bidder.
"Mr Abbott’s generosity will help us raise much needed money to buy equipment such as wheelchairs, walkers and communication devices for children with cerebral palsy, which is the most common physical disability in childhood."
