Ballan police Sergeant Ken Tingate said thieves forced entry to several locked sheds on the unoccupied property on Coalmine Rd between Monday morning and Saturday, and took a horse float, five motorbikes, a fire pump and a number of tools.
Sgt Tingate said the horse float was distinctive.
''According to the owner, it is wider and longer than normal, so we are asking anyone who might have seen a float being towed in the Lal Lal area to let us know,'' he said.
Anyone with information is asked to phone Ballan police on 5368 1303 or CrimeStoppers, 1800 333 000.
