With a top class entertainment program of extreme sports, live concerts and entertainment to suit all ages, the Deniliquin Ute Muster, to be held on October 2, is anticipating a sellout.
General manager John Harvie wass thrilled to have Cold Chisel signed up.
“This is a major coup for us as it would be for any festival in Australia,” he said.
“What a perfect fit for our festival - Cold Chisel is quintessentially Australian and one of our great Aussie icons."
This special appearance in Deniliquin reflects the band’s reinvigoration after drawing over 50,000 people to an unforgettable concert at the Olympic Stadium in Sydney in December last year.
“Cold Chisel got together late last year and we had a good time. We all thought that if the right thing came up, we’d do it again,” said Chisel’s Don Walker.
“Cold Chisel is the best band I have ever played with,” said frontman Jimmy Barnes. “Whenever the five of us get together sparks fly and something beautiful happens.”
Cold Chisel remains one of the highest selling and most revered Australian artists of all time. With sales of over 5 million albums and DVDs, Cold Chisel’s legend has only grown over the years, driven by a catalogue of songs like Cheap Wine, Khe Sanh, Flame Trees and Forever Now that have become part of the fabric of Australian life.
In only 12 years the Deniliquin Ute Muster has grown from strength to strength. A not-for-profit community driven festival held on the NSW Labour Day Long weekend every year the muster provides a much needed economic boost to the region.
Around 20,000 people from all over Australia and beyond make the pilgrimage each year to be part of this national iconic event.
Set on the flattest open plains on earth the site includes a huge family camping area that caters for sedans, caravans, camper trailers and mobile homes so if you don’t have a ute – don’t despair, everyone is welcome.
