Mr Allison, a former chief executive with GGA subsidiary BRI Australia, has been filling in since Mr Flottmann’s sudden resignation last month.
He will now take on the job of a GGA which is unrecognisable compared to prior to Mr Flottmann’s time.
The association now includes subsidiaries such as Agrecon, BRI Australia and Kondinin Group.
GGA chairman John Eastburn said Mr Allison’s extensive corporate agribusiness experience would assist in driving the GGA Group to become "a leading services company for Australian agriculture".
Mr Allison has previously held positions of chief executive of Landmark Operations, Wesfarmers Rural Division and Wesfarmers CSBP as well as the general manager of Crop Care Australasia and Incitec Fertilisers.
Prior to joining BRI Australia in 2009, Mr Allison was chief executive and managing director of Jeminex Limited, a mining and construction products and services company.
