Penning just 10,783 of the 20,000 head nominated demand from a reasonably solid gathering of onlookers remained subdued especially for the lines of Merino ewes while competition for crossbred ewes was willing.
Most sales of 09-drop crossbred ewes as a consequence held fully firm on current rating making $194 to a market top of $224 a head while 09-drop Merino ewe maidens generally achieved lower prices between $130 and $157, topping at $180 for a January-shorn pen, Windouran blood and bred.
This June/July 09-drop pen of 170 was sold by Moratai while the next highest priced pen of Merino maidens which also offered a substantial February-shorn fleece made $166.
This lot of 204 Collinsville-blood young ewes was offered by Jung Lane while the Eastman family of Old Morago contributed an August shorn draft of 900 Cloverlea-blood and bred young ewes, July/August 09-drop which saw the tops sold at $157 and a second-draft pen realise $144.
A line 750 Mungadal blood young ewes, Gundaline bred was also sold August-shorn by Old Morago. Its tops realised $155 while a second pen made $148.
The Shippen family “Bundyalumbah” Moulamein sold 600 head of their own-bred Bundyalumbah-blood young ewes, August shorn.
These made to $148 and averaged $142 while Bandyandah Pastoral Company of Moulamein sold 1000 Cloverlea blood and bred young ewes to $154, avg $144.
