Debbie Kroger, Bibury, Main Ridge, pictured with property manager Wayne Price (left) sold 37 Angus steers, 9-10 months, by The Downs Angus bulls, to $720, averaging $710 or 251 cents a kilogram.
THERE was unexpected confidence at the Pakenham store sale last Thursday.
Well-bred black steers made 220-250 cents a kilogram, while quality lines of heifers made 210-240c/kg.
Jarrod Bennetts, Everitt, Seeley and Bennetts, Pakenham, said the market was better than expected.
“We saw mostly local competition with the regular buyers attending,” he said.
“There must be a lot of confidence out there given we’ve just had another big dose of rain over West and South Gippsland.”
