THOROUGHBRED horse training facility, Kerrygail Farm, in Romsey is regarded as a high quality equine facility.
The farm is currently the home of Team Corstens and iconic trainer Leon Corsteds.
103 hectares in size, the property has undergone serious development over the past five years.
These developments include two adjacent clear span horse barns with the capacity for 70 horses which are supported by a fully integrated complex of horse handling, spelling and recuperation facilities with additional boxes and yards set amongst a significant area of improved pastures in both small and larger fenced areas.
An eight horse rotary Aquawalker and a 65 metre length horse swimming pool are also key features of the property.
There are also two two fully irrigated training tracks.
One of the training tracks is an 1800 metre grass training track that is railed and banked while inside the other is a 1600 metre circumference all purpose sand training track.
Water is also one of the features of the property.
It is serviced by town water supply and also holds a 35 megalitre diversion of high quality treated water from the Romsey township system which is used for irrigation of the tracks.
There are also significant tank water storages which collect rainwater off the major buildings and can be readily supplemented.
A two storey homestead is also set on the property surrounded by 0.5 hecyares of gardens.
There is also a separate staff cottage suited to a manager or for use as a support staff facility.Selling agent, Peter Balharrie said that one of the additional features of the property is its three road frontages with the principal one to the main Melbourne-Lancefield Road which places the property only about 40 minutes to the north of the City.
“I originally sold this property, so to see what has been achieved in creating the Kerrygail Farm thoroughbred complex and developing the property over the recent years represents an amazing transformation in concept, design and implementation,” he said.
“The property is exceptionally credentialed having been the source of a consistent supply of winning racehorses and could be readily used on an on-going basis for pre-training, race conditioning, agistment and breeding as the improvements are of the highest quality”.
