COLAC’S weaner heifer prices followed recent Western District trends on Monday, averaging between 140-160 cents per kilogram.
A pen of seven two-year-old Quarterford Angus heifers topped the joined heifer market at $1100, while two herd dispersals dominated the cow market.
K&P Fairley’s Red Angus herd was in demand as 14 2010-drop Yonda Grange-blood cows topped at $1120.
H&B Bush also dispersed their herd, selling lines of quality cattle, with 12 2006-drop Angus cows selling to $1030.
Heifer weaners topped at $640 via eight Angus-Charolais cattle consigned by TA&DE Richardson while cows and calves topped at $1120.
