L Barrett, Trafalgar, sold 16 Hereford steers from $1010-$1050, JB&ME Lamb, Denison, 13 Angus steers for $1195, and Makoom Nominees, Loch, 12 Angus steers for $1200.
Warrigal Creek, Darriman, sold a range of 90 Angus and Angus-Hereford steers, which sold between $680-$1090, av $954, or 232-260c/kg.
Most of the younger steers sold from $640-$830, with the level of competition varied across pens.
D&P Burns, Stony Creek, sold 17 Angus steers, 307kg, for $835, and E Jones, Tanjil South, sold 16 Angus steers, 324kg, for $800.
Crossbred steers and numerous pens of Friesian steers sold well after the strong prime cattle the day before.
T&C Porter, Yarram, sold 22 steers, with Friesians selling for $855, and Angus and Hereford-Friesian cross steers from $705-$855. These all fetched a live equivalent higher than 200c/kg.
