The Murray-Daring Basin Authority will detail water sharing arrangements in the River Murray system at a public webinar next October 12.
The webinar will run through the basics of how water is shared between NSW, Victoria and South Australia and the factors that influence each state's allocation decisions.
MDBA River Management senior director Matt Bethune said allocations had always been a topical subject when it came to water management.
"Especially during times like now, when there's a lot of water in the Murray-Darling system, governments are getting a lot of questions on why allocations are set the way they are," Mr Bethune said.
"These are important questions and we wanted to provide an opportunity for our stakeholders to hear comprehensive responses directly from us and our Basin state colleagues."
Representatives from NSW, Victoria and South Australia will be joining the MDBA's webinar panel to highlight how water allocations are managed and distributed across state catchments.
The webinar will go for an hour and a half, including time for a question-and-answer forum.
Anyone can join the event using Microsoft Teams.
A recording of the event will also be made available.
This will be the seventh webinar the MDBA has conducted since early this year.
It's part of the Authority's effort to keep communities and industries informed on important water-related topics.
