Abiding by the current social distancing obligations, beef producers turned out for Doug and Barbara Tozer's annual spring bull sale when they offered 42 Angus bulls at their Onslow Angus stud, Cootamundra.
Sale results showed a top price of $25,000 with an average price for the 40 sold of $12,075.
The top price at $25,000 was paid for Onslow Nuclear R48 by longterm client Todd McGrouther, Hanworth Pastoral Co., Goulburn.
The son of Granite Ridge Nuclear N174 from a daughter of Onslow Beeac, the 18 month-old sire had the July 2021 Trans Tasman Angus Cattle Evaluation figures of +4.9 Birthweight, +132 600 Day Weight, +2.8 Scrotal Size and +2.0 Intramuscular fat (IMF).
The bull was bought on behalf of Mr McGrouther by Steve Ridley, Elders stud stock, Goulburn, who said the bull impressed for his structure and figures.
"We bought him for his phenotype and breeding," Mr Ridley said.
"Hanworth always buy at the top end of the sale catalogue and it shows in the top quality of the cows in their herd."
The Helmsman auction was conducted by Elders stud stock with Steve Ridley taking the bidders through the catalogue and the catalogue was also listed on AuctionsPlus.
