An eastern Victorian bedding manufacturer's keen eye for detail and its unique approach to quality and comfort has made it a popular choice among Australians.
Aussie Wool Comfort, an internationally-respected bedding company located in Warragul, manufactures linen and blankets straight to the consumer.
Aussie Wool Comfort owner Catriona Ronalds said by handcrafting their products they were able to deliver high-quality bedding at affordable prices.
"Producing handmade in our own workshop enables us to deliver the highest quality... and by using the best wool, means you get the best sleep," Ms Ronalds said.
"A lot of our team members have been with us for many years and some through multiple generations.
"Their genuine skill and eye for detail is something we value highly in our business and we love that each piece has been produced under their careful eye."
Moving to Warragul after they got married and taking over the company five years ago, Ms Ronalds and her husband joined the venture to get back to their sheep and wool heritage.
Ms Ronalds has continued to build a reputable business with help from her background in the wool industry which she learnt from her family of generational sheep farmers.
"After moving, my husband Andrew and I heard that the Aussie Wool Comfort business was for sale," she said.
"We immediately and enthusiastically talked to the owners and we were excited about the opportunity to put our personal touch on such a wonderful Australian product.
"My dad is particularly proud of me for getting back to my grassroots."
Aussie Wool Comfort has become internationally recognised by its Woolmark licence, which means it has been independently tested for quality.
Ms Ronalds said by refraining from using resins and chemicals, the bedding remained high quality and free from allergens.
"These specially-selected flocks yield the best high-grade wool for quilts, and our quilts only use wool from the premium part of the sheep - the top part," she said.
"Because we use premium wool of the highest quality, there is no need to add chemicals or nasty resins, so it is a 100 per cent pure and healthy allergen-free quilt.
"Being free of resins and chemicals was the very reason the company began to make quilts in the first place, to get away from allergy-causing products."
By striving to create durable bedding for a diverse community, Ms Ronalds has been able to expand.
She now offers customers the ability to order made-to-size bedding.
The company's marketing approach is also unique as its products are purely sold online and direct to the consumer.
Ms Ronalds said this tactic helped keep the product prices affordable and available to everyday consumers.
"We cut out the middle-man, which means our customers get a premium quality product without paying a premium price," she said.
"We often have customers wanting specially-made products for caravans and boats or just unusually-sized beds.
"We have even made sleeping bags and under blankets for swags."
Aussie Wool Comfort sells qulits, washable quilts, under blankets, wool pillows, quilt covers and even pet bedding, on its website.
