Robert Eagles and the staff from family owned and operated Gough Plastics, will be in Rockhampton to exhibit for the third time at Beef Australia 2021, where they'll be showcasing the full extent of the Townsville businesses' rural product range.

Mr Eagles said over the week, visitors will be able to learn about Gough Plastics' light weight, easy to install MegaTrough range, the safe and effective MaxiBeast molasses lick feeder, and FeedSmart and WaterSmart trough range in various shapes and sizes.

"These products are made from the same grade of polyethylene plastic material that Gough Plastics rainwater tank range is manufactured with," he said.

"The 2.4m, 3m and 6m MegaTroughs and the 1000L Round MegaTrough, are easily transported on the back of a ute or small truck and only require, at most, two people to install.

"They're easy to empty and clean, and due to the MegaTrough Ballast System they're very heavy once positioned and filled with water, so there are no problems with cattle moving the trough when drinking, and the heavy duty ribbed design means the trough can handle taking a knock."

He said the MaxiBeast eliminates livestock loss from falling in and drowning in the trough.

"Cattle must turn the wheels to lick the supplement, which regulates intake and prevents waste. The MaxiBeast maximises the amount of head per trough as there are eight wheels per trough.

"It's ergonomically designed to make loading and unloading a one person job, and it's made with translucent material to allow the liquid levels to be monitored from a distance."

Mr Eagles said Beef provides a great opportunity for the business to support, and give back to, the industry through which the businesses rural products are distributed in Australia and internationally for utilisation in operations large to small in scale.

"The event allows us to meet up with clients we deal with regularly to find out how our products are performing for them."

He said Gough Plastics regularly attends as many industry events as possible.

"This year we'll also be exhibiting at the Richmond Field Days and Races, the Rotary FNQ Field Days in Mareeba, Ag-Grow in Emerald, and the Northern Beef Producers Expo in Charters Towers."

During his time as a farmer, Gough Plastics' founder Peter Gough, was responsible for developing a cane planting system which has become the standard in the sugar industry worldwide.

This drive for innovation has led Gough Plastics to creating products that have helped fill gaps in the marketplace including, among others, the award-winning Hybrid Toilet System; Dump-Ezy: the receptacle and separator for chemically dosed porta potty waste.
