Leawood Angus, Flynn, recorded a full clearance and higher average than both its 2020 sales at its autumn bull sale on Tuesday.
The top-priced bull was Lot 1, Leawood Express Q382, an 18-month-old weighing 860 kilograms, with an eye muscle area of 125.
He was purchased by return buyer Kevin Osprey, Hedley.
Stud co-principal Luke Stuckey said he was always a stand out and the stud had considered keeping him.
Mr Stuckey said instead, Leawood had retained some semen for future breeding.
Volume buyers included Neil Page, Montgomery, who purchased six New Zealand-pedigreed bulls, including Lot 24, Leawood Steakhouse Q312, for $11,000.
Ben Bowman, SEJ Leongatha, brought three bulls for Buneep Park, Bunyip North.
BF & DF Summers, Fish Creek, bought three bulls through Nutrien Leongatha, including a top price of $13,000 for Lot 2, Leawood Legend Q334.
The stud also sold 32 commercial cows and calves to a top of $4250, along with 16 commercial 12-month-old heifers that sold to top of $2000.
Mr Stuckey said it was a great result.
"We were probably going into it a little bit nervous just considering how many bulls there are for sale at the moment," he said.
"We were a bit blown away."
He said the sale reflected the confidence that was carrying through the industry at the moment.
"It has been great to see so many new producers showing interest in our breeding program, being strong New Zealand-based for over 75 years," he said.
"We pride ourselves on longevity, with many clients still using bulls that are eight and 10-years-old and still working strong while keeping great structure."
He said this year's line up of bulls offered more variety than previous sales, and those sired by Rangatira Mack and Merchiston Steakhouse were the most popular.
