Former stock agent-turned-farmer David Webb believes there's never been a better time to be a farmer.
Ideal seasonal conditions are priming the industry with enthusiasm, bolstered by ongoing high prices livestock prices across the eastern seaboard.
Mr Webb runs a mob of 1000 crossbred ewes and 350 Hereford and Angus cattle at Highlands, near Seymour, with his partner Louise and recently photographed his son George enjoying some of the rain.
"He loves the rain as any good farmer does, especially the puddles," he said.
"Everything is going really well for farmers at the moment with good sheep and cattle prices and we have plenty of grass so I really can't complain."
The third-generation farmer breeds store cattle and sells them at 12 to 14 months, often through Euroa or an online platform, while his prime lambs are sold at Bendigo or direct to Coles.
"We haven't seen a season like this for a very long time so it's good to be rewarded," he said.
