Day one of Stock & Land Beef Week kicked off in north-west Victoria on Wednesday with seven cattle studs opening their gates to kick off the eight-day event.
This year marks 30 years since Beef Week first commenced and over that time the event has become an important annual fixture for seed stock operators across Victoria, NSW and SA.
Stock & Land Beef Week committee chairman John Adams said the event was an effective way to show off their breeding stock and properties to both existing and prospective clients.
Studs that opened their gates on Wednesday included Allednaw Charolais, Black Diamond Speckle Park, Iseco Limousin, Merribrook Angus, Merridale Angus, Mount Major Murray Grey and Redgums Red Angus.
