THE annual Quamby Plains Correidale ram sale saw prices top at $3400 and 46 rams sold average $1671 on Monday.
Top priced ram was sired by Quamby Plains 160064 and had a 25.1 micron fleece measurement and was in the top 10 percent on the Maternal Wool Production Plus index (MWP+) at 154.4.
The ram was purchased by regular repeat buyers, Ballark Farms Pty Ltd, Ballan.
Quamby Plains stud principal Victoria Archer said the buyer purchased five rams in total , targeting the top of the catalogue.
Other lots purchased by Ballark included lot 21 at $3200, lot 11 at $2400 and lot 25 at $2200.
Ms Archer said considering the restrictions as a result of the coronavirus and the impact on the ability of Victorian breeders to attend, they were "pretty pleased" with the result.
"We are very lucky to have repeat buyers, coming back every year," she said.
Another regular client who bought was PS Burbury & Son, Woodbury, Tasmania, who bought a ram for $2400.
Mainland support did come in the form of New South Wales Corriedale breeders, MA Mackenzie Partnership, Rosewood.
The Mackenzies purchased seven rams to a top of $1800 for lot 48 as ram with a 24.2 micron fleece and MWP+ index of 145.3.
Also purchasing seven rams was Tasmanian regular clients, GS Isles & Son, Oatland. The draft was bought in a range of $1000 to a top of $2000.
The top lot was lot 21, a ram with a 24.5 micron fleece measurement, a plus 1.1mm for post weaning eye muscle depth (PEMD).
The sale was conducted by Nutrien Livestock and interfaced with AuctionsPlus.
