Steers again ticked up to 600 cents/kilogram at Yea, as agents rated the monthly sale at $50-$100 a head dearer than October.
Nutrien Ag Solution's Chris Pollard said it was a "solid sale", right the way through.
"The buyers were local, with a lot of cattle going down to Gippsland - there weren't many going north, at all," Mr Pollard said.
Agents yarded 1919 head of stock.

Mr Pollard said autumn-drop calves were making up ot $1800, while heifers sold for equal prices.
"In a couple of places, the guys really got going on the seconds, which made more than the tops," he said.
"For the past four months, we've said it can't get any dearer and it gets dearer every month
"I would have said it was $50-$100 dearer than the previous sale."
Mr Pollard said calves drafted into the second and third lanes at the yards weighed 350-370kg.
"Any other time, that sort of weight cattle would be in the first lane," he said.
"We had a couple of blokes ringing up and wanting to operate on 250-300kg cattle, and they just weren't here to operate on."
Jamie Quinlan, Elders Yea, said he felt the sale was a fraction dearer, than last month.
"There was a firm base of steers, under 350kg, which were 500c/kg and better, the 300kg steers were nearly 600c/kg, some of the 200kg cattle were making $1400," Mr Quinlan said.
"Everyone is bidding on them
"Whether it's feedlotters, or grass fatteners and catle being bought to kill - everything is as dear as it has ever been, there were no holes in it."
Heifers were selling well, with buyers needing $1500 to buy cattle weighing 260kg and better, and $1700 to buy a 330-340kg female.
"There was a Shepparton backgrounder, who bought a truck load, Garrison bought a lot of heifers, but all day, there was no real, stand-out buyer.
"I would say the locals got their share, too."
Mr Quinlan said the grass on the hills around Yea was starting to dry off.
"Most of our heavier cattle are coming out of the hills, the cattle on the flat country just need a little bit of that feed to start to harden up a bit."
Feedlots, including Garrison, the Conroy Brothers, Jalna and Hopkins River were active, as was commission buyer Campbell Ross and Ray White Albury.
Radfords and Hardwicks also bought some pens.
