Competition was keen at NVLX Wodonga when 685 head were yarded for today's store sale.
The offering consisted mostly forward store condition with a small tail of lighter quality stock.
A feature of today's sale and probably due to low numbers was the urgency with which buyers scrambled to secure stock for the paddock.
Also noted were a few pens of autumn-drop weaners with very good weight coming into the market and not waiting for the annual weaner sales in the new year.
Some heavy steers were on offer and they topped at $2170 (544kg) while steer weaners weighing 301kg sold for $1710.
Indicative sales for steers under 300kg ranged from $1395 to $1655: while those 300-400kg weight range varied from $1300 to $1800 and those over 400kg sold from $1740 to $2170.
Indicative heifer sales for those under 300kg sold from $1100 to $1220: while those 300-400kg sold from $1330 to $1685 and those over 400kg sold to $1845.
Unjoined heifers weighing 450kg sold for $2000.
PTIC cows sold from $1820 to $2860 while cows with calves sold to $3575.
Local and northern Victorian restockers dominated the sale and competed strongly with commission buyers.
Wodonga-based agencies BUR, Corcoran Parker, Peter Ruaro Livestock and Schubert Boers conducted the sale.
