Heavy snow is falling in Ballarat today, despite the first month of spring being almost over.
There has been heavy snowfall in Ballarat after 12.30pm, with previous dumpings to the west and south-west of the city.
It is the heaviest snowfall of the year and arguably the thickest flurries for a number of years in Ballarat.
So thick are the downfalls, it is genuinely starting to build up on the ground.

Ballarat's temperature was just 0.4 degrees at 1.10pm.
Lismore (70km south-west) and Skipton (55km west) also saw decent flurries this morning, despite being far lower altitude than Ballarat.
Skipton, is just 279 metres above sea level while is just while Lismore is only 178 metres.
Ballarat's altitude is 435 metres in the city centre.
