*Total clearance of 40 bulls to $11,500, av $7450
NEW Zealand genetics were in high demand during Leawood Angus' on-property bull sale last Friday.
The Flynn stud recorded a total clearance of 40 bulls to average $7450.
The top-priced $11,500 bull, lot 24 Q024, was bought by Scott Campbell, Mardan, through SEJ Leongatha.
The bull was sired by New Zealand Stern 15815 which also sired the stud's top bull in its autumn sale.
"The strength of return buyers was very evident, however, the influence of new clients was exciting to see," Leawood Angus' co-principal Luke Stuckey said.
Volume buyers included the Bailey brothers from Tyers, through Nutrien Leongatha, who bought three bulls including lots six and seven for $8500 and lot eight for $8000.
Richard Crooke, Holy Plains, Rosedale, also bought three bulls through Delaney Property & Livestock including lots five and 11 for $8000 and lot 15 for $7500.
Thelma Coster, Newry, bought lot three for $10,000 and lot 36 for $6000 through the same agent.
Meanwhile, Holstons Pastoral bought lots 26 and 28 through Elders Bairnsdale.
The stud also offered nine two-year-old heifers with spring-drop calves at foot which sold for $3500 to Nutrient Echuca.
The same agency also bought eight five-year-old cows with spring-drop calves at foot for $3200.
Mr Stuckey said the 31 12-month-old heifers averaged $1750.
