The second week of the online Great South West Dairy Awards has seen Colac's Nadine Markham and Isaac Hose from Garvoc named winners.
Ms Markham won the Service Provider Award, sponsored by Moyne Shire after impressing the judges with her dedication, passion and commitment to the industry.
Currently working at Reid Stockfeeds, Ms Markham has a wide diversity of experience gained over her 25 years in the region's dairy industry.
"It is a real honour and privilege. I care very much for the incredibly talented farmers, and for their farm businesses and livestock that make up our dairy industry," Ms Markham said.
"I hope this award will help me to become a stronger advocate for the farming community in the future."
Bulla Foods field officer, Marni Teal was named the GreenCon sponsored runner-up in the award, after demonstrating an energetic and enthusiastic approach to dealing with issues, problem solving and supporting "her" farmers.
In the Employee Award Isaac Hose took the honours, winning the category sponsored by Union Dairy Company.
"'It's an honour to win the Employee Award, I'm sure the other nominees were just as deserving. It's not why we do the job, but it is nice to be recognised every now and again," said Mr Hose.
Managing his study without interruption to his work commitments, including completing a Certificate III & IV in Agriculture and a Diploma of Agriculture, Mr Hose was also the NCDEA student of the year in 2017.
Developing his knowledge and skills working on Josh and Lilli Philp's farm at Garvoc, the judges were impressed with his obvious passion for the industry, commitment to his current workplace and his longer-term aspirations.
Marc Johnston was runner-up in the Employee Award, sponsored by Saputo Dairy Australia. Mr Johnston is the herd manager on the Harris family farm at Larpent.
The judges valued his commitment to improving his skills and knowledge through professional development via industry programs, on-farm learning and formal training.
The prestigious Dairy Farm Business Management Award and the Western Victorian Dairy Industry Honour Board will feature in next week's final online presentations.
All sessions are free to view on the WestVic Dairy Facebook page from 7.30pm, Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday.
