The yarding of around 1150 mainly steers and heifers at Yea attracted good competition and firm prices across all categories.
Nutrien Ag Yea's Chris Pollard said the crowd was small and the sale was carried out according to social distancing restrictions.
He said a council employee monitored the required social distancing requirements.
"A couple of times some buyers came a bit close to one another and the council person would blow a whistle and the sale stopped until the required space was met," he said.
The cattle were spaced with a pen between each sale lot.
Tyson Bush, Rodwells, Yea, said the live streaming to an area near the canteen worked extremely well.
He said a number of buyers were able to operate from that area.
He said the sale was a strong result and probably above expectations, particularly given the circumstances.
Mr Pollard said the centre planned to hold an all-agents store sale on May 8 and Nutrien Ag would hold its special spring-drop weaner sale on May 22.
