Plover Park is primed for new owners

This renowned red gum farming and grazing country is up for sale.

Plover Park is a renowned red gum farming and grazing country,a decent sized tract of sheep or cattle grazing and cropping land that is just one point one kilometres out from the village of Harrow in the West Wimmera Shire.

A rare auction in a tightly held southern Wimmera location, this is a key opportunity for expansion minded district farmers. Listed by local Rodwells Ruralco Property agent Max Brown in Horsham the property has an area of 354 hectares or 876 acres approximately and is held in three titles.

The Park has been held by the vendors since 1964 under two generations of ownership, but originally formed part of a much larger holding in the district under the family name. But after two generations of ownership and farming the vendors have no family succession so they are selling to retire.

With a frontage of over one kilometre to the bitumen Harrow-Clear Lake Road the only building is an older style usable two-stand shearing shed with the original set of yards. There are seven dams with a double creek frontage that holds water most of the time and provides stock water, holding scope for cropping under wheat, oats or canola.

Held and conservatively farmed since 1964, the vendors have regularly supered the property and have built up the productive resources through reseeding with improved pastures including phalaris.
