Pakenham livestock agents will hold their fourth feature store and weaner sale on Thursday, January 9.
More than 3000 weaner cattle are expected to be sold from the West Gippsland, Yarra Valley and surrounding districts.
Rodwells Pakenham manager Anthony Delaney said cattle were looking "tremendous" after a promising spring.
"West Gippsland has fared well especially with the November rains we've had because we've still got green feed and just getting into hay now," Mr Delaney said.
"The cattle will be as good a run of weaners that we've had in recent years I'd say."
Feature lines include 250 Charolais and Charolais-cross mixed sex weaners by Tarrawarra Abbey, Tarrawarra, and P and L Burgi, Gruyere, with 60 Charolais Angus-cross mixed sex weaners, 8-10 months.
Other vendors include Kathwal Farm, Pakenham South, which will sell 70 Limousin-cross mixed sex weaners while Burnside Pastoral, Yarra Glen, will present 100 Angus mixed sex weaners to buyers.
Alex Scott & Staff Pakenham livestock agent Peter Brewer said the cattle would present in forward condition.
"Alex Scott will have about 1200-1500 cattle at this sale and generally bigger lines of cattle come forward for this market which makes it a feature sale," he said.
"This sale has grown in the last few years to what it was last year which was outstanding.
"It's a credit to the vendors that supply cattle to this market and the agents who influence stock to this sale because the quality each year is quite incredible."
